SHAWN LEHMAN, M. ED. ADMIN, G & C , CCC, EMDR Therapist
Shawn has been an educator for the past 28 years. Shawn has been involved with school leadership for 21 consecutive years and school counselling for four consecutive years. Shawn has a Masters’ Degree in Educational Administration and a Masters’ Degree in Counselling in Education.
Shawn has extensive experience working with kids; in particular, those kids/people feeling disconnected, misunderstood, struggling with mental health, peer pressure, bullying, in crisis, and just needing to talk/connect. Shawn has worked with individuals experiencing trauma, grief, addictions, group therapy, couples counselling, and working with individuals who struggle with their mental health.
Shawn uses a client centered approach. Once a positive connection is made, Shawn uses the ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) model of living in the present perspective with an open mindset to help the client develop goals, understanding perspective with an open mindset, and challenging themselves.
In 2024, Shawn became a certified EMDR therapist. EMDR Therapy is a form of psychotherapy using a bi-lateral neural stimulation technique that reconnects the traumatized person in a safe and measured way, allowing the natural healing powers of the brain to move toward adaptive resolution.
